About Kat

Kat Hubbard started her improv journey in 2015 at The Institution Theater in Austin, Texas. After taking TIT’s free class, she was hooked and hasn’t stopped performing. Kat continued taking classes and workshops, performing in shows, and never stopped playing no matter where she lived. With the rise of online improve classes and workshops, along with real-life experience, she has trained at The Institution Theater, The Hideout Theater, Comedy Sportz, iO, UCB, Second City, and BETA Theater. She has regularly performed in open jam shows since 2015 and continues to do so online. She started teaching online with BETA Theater in 2020. She loves playing with strangers, or as she calls them “friends you haven’t met yet.”

Outside of improv, Kat enjoys being a college professor as a day job and keeps up with several hobbies including aerial acrobatics, hula hoop dancing, yoga, running, crocheting, and baking. She also has a super needy cat named Roxy who has her own emotional support animals—three mice named Pancho, Lefty, and Van Zandt.
